Deadwood SnoCross winners

Deadwood geared up for a winter rush of events over the past few weekends.

The town has played host to the ISOC Amsoil Snocross Championship, South Dakota's Largest Tailgate and Mardi Gras.

For the third year, Deadwood SnoCross Shootout gave fans the chance on Jan. 30-31 to watch the high-speed, high-excitement snowmobiling professionals race.
This year's race results were:
  1. Tucker Hibbert
  2. Ross Martin
  3. Tim Tremblay
  4. Robbie Malinoski
  5. Peter Narsa
  6. Kyle Pallin
  7. Garth Kaufman
  8. Emil Ohman.
On the same weekend, the fourth annual South Dakota's Largest Tailgate Party was happening on Deadwood Main Street. The weekend event included a jumbo screen to watch the SnoCross events and even a chilli cookoff.

Deadwood is a city that knows how to throw a party, and on Feb. 6-7, it will pull out all the beads--Mardi Gras beads that is. According to the Deadwood's website, visitors can expect over 10,000 sets of beads at the Feb. 7 parade, which begins at 7 p.m. on Main Street.

With all the events in Deadwood, now is the perfect time to visit the Black Hills. Although the area is a bit short on snow, most snowmobile trails are still fair to good. This means you and your family can ride the trails and then enjoy the many local events.
